Printing companies helping brands deliver results

The global energy drink Red Bull has been causing waves in the advertising world by choosing a more unconventional media channel to reach its growing customer base! Forget sponsorships, product placement and television advertising, the latest trend is self-publishing.

The printed magazine, Red Bulletin, is a monthly publication produced from the company’s editorial offices in Europe. Printing companies distribute the magazine to 3.1 million readers all over the world. Articles are varied and include topics like sports, culture and music – content that resonates with the target market of the brand.

“If you spend time around experts in the world of content marketing and brand publishing, you’ll soon hear someone invoking the example of Red Bulletin. Why? Because if content marketing is about giving consumers something valuable – something that perhaps only laterally connects to the brand product itself – in order to get something valuable in return (awareness, affinity, sales), then Red Bull does that very well indeed.”

Think it’s only happening overseas? A good example of a printed lifestyle publication in Australia is created by the home organisation retailer ‘Howards Storage World’, who for the past couple of years has produced a quarterly seasonal lifestyle magazine called inPlace. Linking printed lifestyle content to its blog and online shop, this quarterly magazine is a softer sell advertising medium that gets great results.

At The Printing Company, our message to brands is... is there a better way to engage your customers using a printed publication? Contact us on 1300 883 470 and we’ll be happy to help you.

"How to get your Company to show up on Google?"
....send out a brochure :-)

We were amused this week as a promotional flyer landed on our desk direct from Google HQ.

Surely someone else thinks it's also funny that Google, who last quarter generated over three billion dollars from online advertising, still loves to use  traditional direct mail to source new business.

You see, Google know that putting all your marketing eggs in one basket is a rookie advertising mistake. Strictly relying on 'online advertising', directories like Yellow Pages, or just simply 'the way you've always done it' approach is not smart marketing.

A diversified marketing mix is crucial to the success of any advertising campaign.

To reach a targeted demographic with a specific message, consider direct mail. Digitally printing customised messages to your new or existing clients can make you stand out from the rest.

If you are looking for cheap, quick and easy mass exposure in a targeted area - consider printed pamphlets... and if your legs aren't up to it - get someone to deliver them for you at around $60 per thousand - a cheap way to get into targeted letterboxes!

What about multi-page brochures and prospectuses? These important marketing documents help position your school, company or not-for-profit ahead of the rest... giving a distinct point-of-different when it comes time for your potential client to make a decision regarding your goods and services.

To summarise, it's not all about online. Take a leaf out of Google's book, and think about new ways you can reach your target audience.

5 Things to think about when designing a Printed Leaftlet / Flyer.

Whilst a lot of people feel that internet marketing is the way to go, there is still a lot of people out there,- me included that still think there is a place for Printed Marketing Material.  In our business we have had great success in sending things through the post with a hand written not.

In saying that when you decide to do a Printed Marketing Campaign hiring a great design firm if you don't already have an in-house designer is key. I  have just read this interesting article by Yasir Liaqat, about 5 things to think about when contracting  a firm to design  your marketing flyers.

Flyers by www.theprintingcompany.com.au

  1. The first thing that should be well understood before designing is what people would think about your leaflet or in other words you should be well aware of the attitude and the mood of your targeted audience for which you are going to design and printing the leaflets.
  2. The size and the weight of the paper play an important role in grabbing the attentions of the viewers. Large size or small sizes always loss their importance and people usually do not pick them up to read on. So the most popular sizes are A4, A5, and A6 etc that are usually used by the marketers to market their products or services.
  3. The third most important thing is the title / headline of the leaflet. The headline should be so impressive and pertinent to cater the viewer's attention and to appeal him to read the whole of the message printed on the leaflet. At The Printing Company, Northern Beaches, we can offer advice on what headlines to use with your marketing.
  4. Images and graphic always play a vital role in business marketing. They give extra advantage as become an eye catching module. People usually prefers the images to view first as they provide a stunning look to the viewer to skim the message mentioned in the leaflet.
  5. The fifth but among the most important thing is the contents. Content is the flute which plays to spread the sweetness everywhere in the environment. So be relevant to the point and stay in your line on the road because leaflet is not like a book to say each and every thing that is in your mind. You will have to make the bullet points to include in the leaflet wisely more easy to read and understandable.
As you can see there is a lot to think about.  When it's done properly it is well worth the effort.

Quite often you will find that a good design firm will work closely with a printer. Alternatively most Sydney Printers have in-house designer so it ends up being a one stop shop.

3D Printing
The Way of the Future

In  the early 90"s  it was becoming apparent  that everything was about to change.  The introduction of the internet changed  everything from the way we listen to music to the way  we can now shop online or Google anything we need to find at the touch of a button,  it all happened so quickly we hardly had time  to realise it had even happened.  Well that change is about to happen again in the form of 3D Printing. It is now not a question  of whether 3D printers will come along, it is happening as we speak.
By using digital design the 3D Printer creates solid objects one layer at a time.
According to an October 2011 report by the Atlantic Council “Could 3D Printing Change the World”, these technologies could “up-end the last two centuries of approaches to design and manufacturing with profound geopolitical, economic, social, demographic, environmental, and security implications”[2]
  • Products can now be manufactured locally, so our reliance on countries like China to manufacture products will be significantly reduced.
  • Products can be printed straight away removing the need to hold stock, thereby allowing small business's become mini factories without the need for warehousing.
  • products can be tailor made to suit the customers individual needs.
  • the need for assembly lines will be removed as the product can be printed out in one process.
The Printing Company  is excited by the whole 3D Printing technology.  We can't wait to see where it leads our business.
